Hi, I'm Kristie!
Originally from Athens, Georgia, I moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 2009 to attend the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University. I loved the community in St. Louis so much that I never left!
I started designing websites during my senior year in undergrad, when my fellow studio art majors and I needed to put together our portfolio websites. I loved the challenge of customizing a template and organizing content, so I naturally began helping my friends with their sites.
After developing the website for my passion project Please Hold Magazine in 2014, I began offering my services to a larger range of clients including publications, photographers, architects, and retailers.
My desire to design for others comes from the same impulse that compels me to operate an art and literary magazine: I love to see passionate people pursue their ideas. I have learned that good design is vital in effectively communicating a message, and I find solving design problems to be an invigorating challenge. Website and graphic design, logo conceptualization, and brand development are all fun and meaningful ways that I can help those creators and innovators do what they love to do.
